WHY FOOLISH WORDS?
What’s up with that name? This Christian
ministry focuses on Jesus Christ and His message of life, forgiveness,
and salvation. Those gifts (and a zillion others) result from His life,
death, and resurrection. The idea that God’s Son, Jesus Christ,
would save us and give us life through His crucifixion and Easter resurrection
may sound like foolish words. In fact, that’s what the Apostle Paul
writes in 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NASB) . . . For
the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to
those who are being saved it is the power of God.
My mission is that my writing and speaking
– whether inspirational or humorous – be centered on the message
of Christ crucified and Christ resurrected. That may sound like foolishness
to the world but it is the power of God for our salvation. Faith in Jesus
Christ is the only way to heaven (John 14:6). There’s nothing
we can do to earn it (Ephesians 2:8-9). That’s absolute truth, not
foolishness.
The cross is in the middle of the ministry
logo, formed by the shadow of the writing pen. Foolish Words is written
in a fun font because of the foolish message (1 Cor. 1:18), but also because
I often use touches of humor in my writing and speaking. Living as a grace-filled,
forgiven child of God is a joy, not a job. Thank the Lord for His forgiveness
and grace. Where would I be without it?! The joy of the Lord is my strength
(Nehemiah 8:10)!
That’s the background for this ministry
of foolish words!
Sending Savior-created smiles,
